幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧Eric Weinstein is deeply disaffected from the academic community that provided his pedigree. He holds a PhD in mathematical physics from Harvard (1992). But he has never held an academic job, and has been working largely in isolation on the Big Enchilada, the , the Unified Field Theory, the integration of quantum field theory with Einstein's theory of gravity that the biggest brains in physics have been trying to crack for lo these last 80 years.

Last month, Weinstein with details of his Geometric Unity theory. He claims that a 14-dimensional space naturally divides into the 4 dimensions that we all know and love plus 10 dimensions of , which identified 90 years ago as the appropriate wave function form for electrons and the other familiar particles.

幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧I have a PhD in theoretical physics, but his presentation is way over my head. There are probably 20 or 30 elite physicists in the world who are qualified to judge whether Weinstein's theory is sound. All of them are already committed to one or another approach of their own. Where is the motivation for them to invest months studying and evaluating Geometric Unity, which comes from an outsider, and which is unlikely to enhance their own professional standing, no matter how the theory eventually fares?

Weinstein has claimed that academic science is populated by the most brilliant minds on the planet, but that their university culture is deeply troubled and unable to assimilate truly new ideas. He says that anyone whose thinking is radical enough to have a chance of solving fundamental new problems will not survive in today's academic environment. From my personal experience, I agree.

What I and many others find hard to understand and even suspicious is why Weinstein has not submitted a journal article so that his ideas can be evaluated through established channels?

no doubt a dumb question is he saying that there are 14 dimensions? I am asking because I want to know where our energy goes after we die.

幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧Rumor has it that this gentleman has 14 fingers, which begs some healthy skepticism about the logic by which he arrived at 14 dimensions. It hardly seems coincidental. The amazing thing is seeing him type. It's been compared to watching two spiders do an Argentine Tango.

幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧The 10 additional dimensions are "spinors", which are mathematical constructs. Nobody can show empirically how these extra dimensions interact with our 4 dimensions. The proofs are all mathematical, not experimental.

I think a more fruitful approach to understanding what happens to our energy when we die is to think in terms of frequencies and bandwidths of frequencies. All energy exists at a frequency. Any frequency outside the electromagnetic spectrum is "invisible" to our body's senses and to all scientific instruments. That is, there is no possibility of empirical verification that these other frequencies exist. But that doesn't mean they don't exist, or can't exist. Spinors might actually be describing energies that are real, but exist outside the bandwidth of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Other kinds of energies - like neutrinos - are known (mathematically) to exist in vast abundance, but they're almost impossible to detect, even though their frequency is within the electromagnetic spectrum.. It is possible that our conscious energy (our soul, or spirit) is hard to detect, but nevertheless exists, and is causally interactive with our brain/body that we can detect.

In English we have one word which is used for spiritual "energy" and what physicists call "energy". This leads to great confusion, because spiritual energy can be generated by our minds and hearts, whereas physical energy cannot be created or destroyed.

In Chinese, there is the word NENGYUAN neng yuan for physical energy and QI qi (pronounced chee) for spiritual energy. Eastern people are less likely to conflate the two.

幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧In my opinion, it makes little sense to ask what happens to a person's qi energy after death, because there is no law that demands qi must always be a constant. But I do think it makes sense to think about what happens to our consciousness after death. Are we snuffed out completely, followed by an eternity of oblivion? Is our awareness freed from bodily constraint, to observe without sense and think without words, to be reincarnated if we choose? Does our awareness rejoin the One World Soul, as the illusion of separateness dissolves?

"...anyone whose thinking is radical enough to have a chance of solving fundamental new problems will not survive in today's academic environment."

幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧A key problem is that large universities (In states with large public university systems, those would be the "flagship" campuses, as opposed to "satellite" campuses) have become research mills. Power has gravitated into the hands of administrators who have little interest in liberal education in the broadest sense. STEM rules. At the U of Wisconsin, Madison (and this holds nationally as well), research grants won by professors hired primarily as researchers are in the millions $$ from government organizations like NIH and NSF and from major corporations. 42% goes immediately to the Administration for "overhead". Because major campuses have an abundance of laboratory/library and other essential necessities already in place, it is to the benefit of major outside interests to grant that 42% overhead rather than construct their own facilities. Hence, administrations seek high powered researchers who will bring in the biggest grants, and high on that list are defense, agribusiness and Big Pharma. Ethics mean nothing. Poets, art historians - arts and humanities in general - get short shrift. Nothing personal, just business.

幸运飞艇有哪些选号技巧For undergraduate education, I contend that good "satellite" campuses have maintained to a greater degree the balance among science/arts/humanities, that the de facto academic "climate", psychologically speaking, is broader there than in what have become "research mills". Indeed, the kinds of research being done are for establishment interests and power structures. Perhaps Weinstein is touching on that.

Josh, how could his theory be evaluated via "standard channels", when you acknowledge in your article that only a handful of people on Earth might be able to actually understand what he is saying? Peer review journals can only evaluate what they understand. A journal could publish a paper without understanding it, but what good would that do if none of the journal readers could understand the theory either? And as you note, the few people who could understand it are already busy pursuing their competing theories. So there seems to be no audience at all for this theory, except for people like you (and me) who are enchanted by the prospect of a unified theory of everything - even if we can't understand all the details.
